  1. Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and 3 years relevant full-time equivalent post registration experience and approved post graduate nursing qualification in a field relevant to the specialty field, or such other qualification, or experience deemed appropriate by the organisation.   
  2. Demonstrated ability to provide safe compassionate quality care that is culturally responsive
  3. Demonstrated skills and knowledge in case management, including care co-ordination for people living with a life limiting illness, using advanced clinical skills in patient/client assessment and care planning.
  4. Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and engage with patients/consumers, carers and the multidisciplinary health care team and conflict management skills.
  5. Demonstrated understanding and participation in risk management, work health and safety and quality improvement in the workplace.
  6. Demonstrated clinical expertise in the 'identification of dying' and conducting effective and sensitive end of life conversations.
  7. Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the principles of end-of-life care and how it relates to the principles of continuous quality improvement.
  8. Demonstrated advanced clinical skills, critical thinking, competence and leadership in the assessment, treatment and management of patients with End of Life care needs
  9. Demonstrated understanding of integrated care and proven ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary framework and mixed clinical environment.
