What you'll be doing
Take the lead in transforming emergency care as an Emergency Department Nurse Navigator, streamlining patient journeys and supporting high-quality, team-based care. This is a 12 hour rotating roster position.
Key responsibilities are to:
- Guide real-time patient flow and clinical decision-making
- Lead and collaborate across nursing, medical and allied teams
- Identify and resolve bottlenecks to enhance care efficiency
- Support access targets while ensuring patient safety and experience
- Be a proactive leader in a fast-paced, high-impact ED environment

Essential Criteria:
- Registration: Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) (NSW Registered Nurse – Division 1)
Selection Criteria:
- Demonstrated understanding of the different Emergency Department’s models of care and an understanding of the Emergency Key Performance Indicators
- Demonstrated skill in the analysis of complex issues, problem-solving, formulating new approaches and implementing strategies, including the ability to develop and monitor outcomes
- Demonstrate effective interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and maintain professional relationships with other healthcare workers, clients and carers
- Excellent time management and organisation skills with attention to detail with proven ability to adapt to dynamic work environment
- Suitable post graduate qualifications and/or experience in field as deemed appropriate by WSLHD
- Demonstrated application and understanding of patient flow principals
