What you'll be doing
As an Emergency Department Clerk, you will provide professional frontline administrative support that keeps one of the state's busiest Emergency Departments operating efficiently. You'll be the welcoming face of the department while ensuring accurate patient registration, communication and coordination across the hospital.
In this role you will:
Register patients, manage admissions and maintain accurate electronic medical records using hospital information systems.
Coordinate communication between patients, families, clinicians, ambulance services, interpreters and external healthcare providers.
Deliver high-quality administrative support while maintaining patient confidentiality and legislative compliance.
Process patient accounts, receipting and cash handling in accordance with NSW Health procedures.
Support team operations by training new staff, contributing to continuous improvement and providing exceptional customer service in a fast-paced 24/7 environment
About You:
You are a confident, organised and compassionate administration professional who thrives in busy environments. You remain calm under pressure, enjoy helping people and can manage competing priorities while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.
You will bring:
Experience providing outstanding frontline customer service, ideally within a hospital or healthcare setting.
Strong administration, data entry and computer skills, including Microsoft Office and patient management systems.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work with diverse communities.
Outstanding organisational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritise in a high-demand environment.
Flexibility to work a 24-hour rotating roster, including weekends, nights and public holidays.
A commitment to teamwork, confidentiality and delivering exceptional patient experiences.

Selection Criteria:
Demonstrated extensive exceptional front-line customer service skills in a medical or hospital environment with ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
Demonstrated computer literacy and data entry skills with the knowledge and use of IT applications including Microsoft Office and hospital based information systems (iPM, FirstNet, Cerner, Powerchart).
Demonstrated high level interpersonal skills, high level verbal and written communication skills.
An ability to work as an effective and efficient team member demonstrating initiative, judgement and contributing positively to team operations.
Ability to work autonomously and actively participate within a multidisciplinary team.
Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise work.
Demonstrated ability to work a 24/7 rotating roster.
