South Western Sydney Local Health District is seeking an Electrical Tradesperson to join and strengthen our Engineering Department. This is a rewarding opportunity to be part of a progressive and diverse organisation committed to our vision of Leading Care, Healthier Communities. In this role, you will provide high‑quality services and support to the health service, patients, and visitors, while undertaking electrical safety work along with preventative, corrective, and statutory maintenance on plant and equipment. You will work collaboratively within a team of skilled trade staff and offer support to other trades, engineering, and administrative colleagues to ensure the safe and efficient operation of our facilities.

The ideal candidate will be a solutions‑focused professional with strong troubleshooting and fault‑finding abilities, capable of working independently while delivering high‑quality outcomes. You will demonstrate excellent active listening skills and a commitment to providing outstanding customer support, ensuring the needs of stakeholders are understood and addressed effectively. 
 

 

Selection Criteria 
To help us assess your suitability for the role, please tell us as much as you can about yourself in response to the questions below. 
 

 

1. Completion of a full electrical apprentice / trade qualification with extensive experience post apprenticeship in electrical reticulation installations, plant / equipment. Possesses electrical supervisors certificate. 
2. Previous experience in the maintenance of large commercial buildings and their associated plant. 
3. Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision and independently initiate and priorities actions to complete complex tasks. 
4. A working knowledge of relevant Australian Standards including but not limited to AS3000 and AS3003. 
5. Applicants must possess an Australian C-Class driver's license (including P1 or P2). Those who hold a C class license (P1 or P2 included) from a state other than NSW must obtain a NSW C class (P1 or P2 included) license within three months of appointment. Learner's licenses are not permitted.
