Join our compassionate and multidisciplinary team as a Dietitian in our Eating Disorder Service, where you'll play a vital role in providing evidence-based, consumer-centred eating disorder care. This role will operate across two cost centres, although the responsibilities and scope of the role remain the same.

NSLHD Eating Disorder Service (District-wide)

What you'll be doing
The position is responsible for providing a virtual and direct nutrition and dietetic service within the NSLHD Eating Disorders Service. This includes individual treatment, facilitation of group treatment models, facilitation of carer support groups and to contribute to the ongoing development of the Virtual and Outpatient Eating Disorder Service model of care. The Dietitian has extensive specialist knowledge within the mental health context and demonstrates advanced clinical reasoning skills. 

The position also provides consultation and supervision to NSLHD clinicians including generalist inpatient and community services on assessment, clinical management, treatment and discharge planning relating to Eating Disorders.   

People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background are encouraged to apply.

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:

  1. Must hold a bachelor or post graduate degree in nutrition and dietetics that provides eligibility for full membership of Dietitians Australia. Must have experience as a level 2 Dietitian. 
  2. Knowledge of the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of people with feeding and eating disorders using evidence based interventions. In particular demonstrated knowledge of or experience in the use of CBT-E and/or Family Based Therapy in treatment and meal support.
  3. Demonstrated ability to deliver a variety of therapeutic counselling models for effective nutritional intervention and support of consumers and their families, including telehealth and virtual models of care; trauma informed care; skill in working with adults, young people as individuals and children and families; and delivery of group therapy. Demonstrated ability to liaise and consult with health, education and welfare professionals involved in the management of consumers.
