About the role:
Hunter New England Local Health District is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Early Career Speech Pathologist to join our Community Health team in Armidale.

In this role, you will provide high-quality, patient-centred speech pathology services to children and their families across a variety of settings. You will manage a clinical caseload, including outreach to smaller rural sites, ensuring equitable access to allied health services across the region.

Working closely with senior clinicians and a multidisciplinary team, you will deliver evidence-based care, contribute to service improvement initiatives, and support positive health outcomes for paediatric patients.

 

Key Responsibilities

As an Early Career Speech Pathologist, you will deliver high-quality, patient-centred care to children and their families across community and outreach settings. Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing a paediatric caseload, including assessment and intervention

  • Delivering evidence-based speech pathology services in line with professional standards

  • Providing care across a variety of settings, including outreach to rural and smaller sites

  • Working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to support continuity of care

  • Communicating effectively with patients, families, carers, and health professionals

  • Participating in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance service delivery

  • Engaging in regular supervision, training, and professional development opportunities

Based at Armidale Community Health Centre, our Speech Pathology team is a small, supportive, and dynamic group committed to delivering high-quality care across the New England region.

About you 
You are a motivated and passionate early career Speech Pathologist who is committed to delivering high-quality care and developing your clinical skills. You will bring:

  • Must hold a bachelor or post graduate degree in speech pathology which provides eligibility for membership of Speech Pathology Australia, or other qualification deemed equivalent by the employer.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

  • Ability to effectively manage time and prioritise competing demands

  • Commitment to evidence-based practice and continuous professional development

  • A collaborative approach and ability to work within a multidisciplinary team

  • Interest or experience in paediatric speech pathology

  • A positive attitude, adaptability, and willingness to learn

  • A friendly, approachable nature with a great sense of humour
