Drug & Alcohol Youth Clinician, Drug & Alcohol Youth Service (DAYS) - Perm FT

Criteria:

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:

1. Relevant tertiary qualifications which provide eligibility for membership with ‘the Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia (PACFA). A Counsellor must hold as a minimum a bachelor’s degree in counselling or a related field, or other qualification such as Social Work, Welfare or Psychology will be deemed equivalent.
2. Demonstrated knowledge and experience working with young people and their families, particularly relating to problematic drug or alcohol use.
3. Demonstrated clinical skills in assessment, case management and counselling within a drug and alcohol service.
4. Knowledge of the harm reduction approach to drug and alcohol issues and demonstrated experience in the provision of interventions with drug dependent clients.
5. Demonstrated knowledge of, and ability to participate in quality improvement processes.
6. Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team to accomplish service goals and improved patient and/or consumer care and outcomes.
7. Demonstrated high level verbal and written communication skills with the ability to adapt communication style to suit the target audience.
