Drug & Alcohol Youth Clinician, Drug & Alcohol Youth Service (DAYS) - Perm FT
Criteria:
Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications which provide eligibility for membership with ‘the Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia (PACFA). A Counsellor must hold as a minimum a bachelor’s degree in counselling or a related field, or other qualification such as Social Work, Welfare or Psychology will be deemed equivalent.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience working with young people and their families, particularly relating to problematic drug or alcohol use.
- Demonstrated clinical skills in assessment, case management and counselling within a drug and alcohol service.
- Knowledge of the harm reduction approach to drug and alcohol issues and demonstrated experience in the provision of interventions with drug dependent clients.
- Demonstrated knowledge of, and ability to participate in quality improvement processes.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team to accomplish service goals and improved patient and/or consumer care and outcomes.
- Demonstrated high level verbal and written communication skills with the ability to adapt communication style to suit the target audience.
