Remuneration: Based on qualifications and years of experience as per the Public Health System Nurses' and Midwives' (State) Award

This position is funded as a CNS2 level. If you have a post graduate qualification and at least 3 years’ experience working in the Drug & Alcohol sector, you are eligible to apply for the CNS2 grading. If you do not meet the CNS2 criteria, you are still eligible to apply for this position as a Registered Nurse, but with a commitment to undertake the required post graduate qualifications within the next 3 years of being appointed to the position.

The Role
We’re currently looking for a Drug and Alcohol Registered Nurse/Clinical Nurse Specialist to:
- Act as a triage point for any clinical staff requesting access to non-urgent drug & alcohol medical officer appointments/clinics.
- Be the first routine point of contact for primary care nurses seeking support with a drug & alcohol related issue
- Provide an appropriate standard of care in the assessment and management of drug & alcohol withdrawal states; including maintenance pharmacotherapies during intoxication or overdose states
- Conduct drug & alcohol clinics/assessments in health centres and also provide clinical interventions via telephone and telehealth as required.
