About the Role
Concord Repatriation General Hospital has a well-earned reputation for excellence in healthcare for over 70 years. Building on its proud heritage of caring for the Veteran community, the hospital now services the local communities of Concord, Strathfield, Burwood and beyond.
The Diversional Therapist provides opportunities for individuals to participate in leisure and recreational activities that promote self-esteem, autonomy, and personal fulfilment. Therapists actively facilitate client choice, decision-making, and participation, ensuring interventions are tailored to individual needs, interests, and abilities.
Our therapeutic approach is grounded in validation, reassurance, and supportive communication. In our clinical practice, we place greater emphasis on the process of engagement rather than the outcome, recognising the importance of meaningful participation and emotional well-being. Interventions are facilitated either in small groups or on a one-to-one bases, depending on individual patient needs and abilities.
This position is a jobshare role and will be working Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday mornings.

Ideal Candidate
- Holds a health science or applied science bachelor degree in leisure, recreation or diversional therapy recognised by the Diversional Therapy Association of Australian National Council, or other qualification deemed equivalent by the employer.
- Possess the skills and knowledge required to work effectively within health, community, and leisure settings, contributing to holistic, person-centred care.
- Ability to work as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
- High level written and verbal communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills.
