We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Clinical Coding Auditor/Educator to join our team. This pivotal role plays an important part in the successful implementation of the NBMLHD Clinical Coding Quality Framework. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and conducting clinical coding audits and providing education to clinical coders, with the aim of sustaining improvements in clinical coding and ensuring that coding and DRG assignments accurately reflect admitted episodes of care.

What you will bring to the role
- Bachelor of Applied Science (Health Information Management) and/or relevant clinical coding qualifications, and experience in clinical coding audit with eligibility for membership of HIMAA.
- Demonstrated high level experience and competency and extensive recent clinical coding experience at tertiary level using ICD- 10-AM and ACHI with a thorough understanding of the Australian Coding Standards and an excellent understanding of Casemix, DRGs and Activity Based Funding/Management models and their application within the health system.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct, measure, validate and sustain coding quality improvement activities in relation to clinical coding data, including coding audits, audit tools, error correction, analysis, and effective presentation of results.
- Demonstrated experience in developing, designing, and delivering education and training programs related to clinical coding.
- Demonstrated ability to extract data from source systems and data warehouses and implement and use available coding audit tools to review, trend, analyse, benchmark, and evaluate coding quality, and report on these activities in a suitable manner
- Demonstrated high level interpersonal, communication, prioritisation, and organisation skills to communicate with people confidently and courteously at all levels and manage a high workload to meet productivity targets and strict deadlines.
- Ability to work under pressure and adapt to an ever-changing environment using excellent organisation and time management skills.
- Highly developed communication and leadership skills with excellent presentation and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate coding quality and audit results to key stakeholders.
