About the Opportunity
Step into a pivotal role where your expertise directly protects patients, staff and our regional communities. As the District Disaster Manager, you’ll be the emergency management lead for MLHD: driving preparedness, strengthening response capability, and ensuring our services remain safe and resilient during any emergency.
In this role, you will:
- Lead MLHD’s Emergency Management framework across prevention, preparedness, response and recovery
- Provide strategic guidance on policies, plans and major incident readiness
- Support the HSFAC and Chief Executive during emergencies and complex incidents
- Collaborate with the State HSFAC (SPRU) on shared priorities, statewide initiatives and training programs
- Oversee education, simulation exercises and capability-building across the district
- Maintain strong partnerships with emergency services, health providers and government agencies
- Coordinate operational response and recovery during activations of emergency plans

About You
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
- Strong emergency/disaster management experience and knowledge
- An in-depth understanding of NSW Health’s PPRR principles
- Exceptional ability to remain calm and confident making decisions in a fast-changing environment
- Sound communication skills with the ability to coordinate across a variety of stakeholder groups
- Flexibility to support after-hours or on-call requirements
