Where you'll be working
The Clinical Excellence Commission (CEC) is committed to providing leadership in safety and quality to improve health care for patients in NSW. The primary focus of the CEC is to promote, and support improved clinical care, safety and quality across the NSW public health system, and to meet functions specified by the Minister for Health. The CEC Strategic Plan places priority on delivering high performing reliable systems and ensuring safety and quality in the provision of healthcare for ‘every patient, every time’ is consistent across NSW Health.
What you'll be doing
The Director Strategy and Operations holds executive responsibility for ensuring the CEC has effective infrastructure and business processes to meet its statutory obligations and operations. This role leads and manages the Corporate Services function for the CEC, utilising a mix of shared services and CEC resources. Additionally, the role serves as the executive lead for the CEC's Project Management Office, known as Strategic Operations.
We are looking for someone who can:
- Lead and manage the Strategy and Operations functions for the CEC, utilising a mix of shared services and CEC resources.
- Oversee embedding the Strategic Operations framework to align with the CEC's Strategic Plan and Determination of Functions.
- Provide expertise as an active member of the executive leadership group including developing organisation-wide strategies and providing advice, direction and support to ensure the organisation meets its strategic objectives and statutory obligations.

Position Classification: Health Manager Level 6
Remuneration: $182,575.00 - $199,405.00 per annum, plus superannuation

Selection Criteria
- Demonstrated senior experience in leading the development and implementation of complex and innovative strategies to integrate operational and workforce improvements designed to address key organisational challenges.
- Demonstrated superior conceptual and innovative problem-solving skills for managing conflicting priorities and developing successful recommendations and advice at a senior level on policies, strategies and solutions across complex areas.
- Demonstrated outstanding communication and consulting skills including negotiation, influencing and motivational skills which demonstrate a capacity to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholder groups.
- Hold relevant tertiary qualifications and/or equivalent knowledge, skills and extensive experience in Strategy development, Corporate governance and Business operations
