About the Opportunity
An exciting opportunity exists to work within a team of community-based Early Childhood Dietitians.
The Early Childhood Nutrition Service provides a community-based paediatric nutrition service for children aged between 0-6 years of age, within the Healthy Kids & Families Directorate of the South Western Sydney Local Health District (SWSLHD). The service supports families across SWSLHD, specifically those who have been identified as vulnerable to poor nutrition & health outcomes. The service also supports other health professionals working with children aged 0-6 years through education, research & consultancy. As part of the role, you may be required to cover multiple clinics across the district.
What You'll be Doing
This position is responsible for providing patient centred and high quality nutrition services to patients in SWSLHD Early Childhood Community Nutrition Service, including providing nutritional care to patients as per caseload; provide and participate in education and evaluation; supervise students as appropriate; and participate in ongoing professional development.

The service supports families across the SWSLHD, specifically those who have been identified as vulnerable to poor nutrition and health outcomes. The service also supports other health professionals working with children aged 0‐5 years through education, research and consultancy.

- Post graduate qualification or Bachelor in Nutrition and Dietetics as recognized by the Dietitians Association of Australia with relevant clinical experience and good knowledge of current Dietetics Practices.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including group education skills with demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of the team.
- Understanding and commitment to quality improvement.
- Demonstrated commitment to continued professional development and evidence based practice.
- Excellent computer skills.
- Demonstrated organisational and time management skills and willingness to seek support from supervisors and members of the team.
- Demonstrated knowledge and commitment to evidence based nutrition care for children aged 0 to 5 years.
- Applicants must possess an Australian C-Class driver's license (including P1 or P2). Those who hold a C class license (P1 or P2 included) from a state other than NSW must obtain a NSW C class (P1 or P2 included) license within three months of appointment. Learner's licenses are not permitted
