This position is part of Keeping the Body in Mind an innovative physical health team (comprising of a CNC, Exercise Physiologist, Dietitian and Peer Support Worker) to develop, implement and evaluate targeted lifestyle and pharmacological interventions to reduce cardio-metabolic risk factors in consumers with severe mental illness. The position will focus on (but is not limited to) working with young people in the early stages of mental illness. In particular, the position will assess the nutritional needs of the consumer and develop, in collaboration with the consumer, an individualised dietary management plan. The position will be actively involved in collecting and analysing data that will contribute to our understanding of the impact of lifestyle interventions on the cardio- metabolic health of consumers.

Selection Criteria:
- Hold a bachelor or post graduate degree in nutrition and dietetics that provides eligibility for full membership of the Dietitians Association of Australia, or other qualification deemed equivalent by the employer.
- Clinical dietetic experience, with consumers with mental illness.
- Demonstrated ability to work under minimal direct professional supervision and exercise independent professional judgement on routine matters.
- Demonstrated effective interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to provide quality written documentation through the use of proficient IT skills.
- Excellent organisational skills.
- Demonstrated ability to take initiative in a proactive manner and work as an effective team member.
- Capacity to develop and deliver dietary education and training to a range of professionals including mental health clinicians and GPs.
- A commitment to quality improvement.
