Where you'll be working 
Located within the Older Person’s Mental Health Unit at Westmead Hospital, you will join Western Sydney Local Health District (WSLHD)—one of NSW’s largest and most innovative healthcare providers. With a strong commitment to collaboration, respect, empowerment, and continuous improvement, WSLHD delivers primary, secondary, and tertiary services to diverse communities across Auburn, Blacktown, Holroyd, The Hills Shire and Parramatta.

You’ll be part of a team that:

  • Provides specialised community mental health care to older people and those experiencing BPSD

  • Delivers trauma-informed, recovery-focused and culturally sensitive services

  • Works in partnership with consumers, families, carers and community organisations

  • Supports independence and quality of life for older people living at home or in aged care

  • Encourages professional growth and values supportive, respectful communication

 

What you'll be doing 
As a Dietitian (Level 1 / Level 2), you will provide high-quality, patient-centred nutrition services that support the clinical and wellbeing needs of older people accessing OPMH services.

In this role you will:

  • Manage an allocated clinical caseload, delivering evidence-based nutritional assessment and care

  • Collaborate with Dietitian Assistants, Diet Supervisors and the broader healthcare team to support patient outcomes

  • Maintain accurate clinical records and contribute to departmental systems and reporting

  • Participate in in-service education, clinical supervision, competency assessments and ongoing professional development

  • Contribute to service planning, accreditation, quality improvement and business initiatives and participate in a 7 day roster that includes weekend, public holidays and/or out of hours services.

Essential Requirements:

Post graduate qualification or bachelor’s in nutrition and Dietetics as recognized by the Dietitians of Australia, employed as a Level 1 or 2 classification.

 

Selection Criteria:

  1. Relevant clinical experience and good knowledge of current Dietetics Practices.

  2. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including group education skills.

  3. Understanding and commitment to quality improvement.

  4. Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of the team.

  5. Demonstrated commitment to continued professional development and evidence-based practice.

  6. Excellent computer skills including CBORD.

  7. Current drivers' licence and willingness to drive
