Murrumbidgee Local Health District (MLHD) are looking for a motivated, enthusiastic and passionate Dietitian Assistant who is ready for a new adventure. As a Dietitian Assistant, you will be a part of the collaborative Nutrition and Dietetics team at our state-of-the-art Wagga Wagga Base Hospital, working alongside and being supported by Allied Health Professionals across the team.

About the role:

We are looking for an enthusiastic Dietitian Assistant to join us in this crucial role to provide support to Nutrition and Dietetics teams in the delivery of high-level heath care service, while working under the supervision of an allied health professional.

As a Dietitian Assistant you will be assisting the Dietitians at Wagga Wagga Health Service with various tasks.

These may include but are not limited to, providing basic nutritional education/groups, administration tasks such as appointment booking, mailing letters, organising discharge letters & supplement scripts, and ordering and managing stock and equipment levels.

In addition to, delivering specialised nutritional supplements and feeds to the wards, and liaising closely with catering regarding patient diets and requirements.

About You

Our ideal candidate will demonstrate:

  1. Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance (Nutrition and Dietetics) or a relevant university nutrition qualification (or relevant work experience/specific interest in nutrition and a willingness to work towards certification with the support of MLHD.)
  2. Ability to prioritise workloads, meet deadlines and complete activities (including ability to work within scope of practice and seek assistance when required)
  3. Commitment to customer service and quality improvement
  4. Ability to work a rotating 7 day per week roster including weekends and public holidays.
