Nepean Hospital is a teaching hospital that provides tertiary referral services in emergency care, coronary care, diagnostics, gynaecology, paediatric, neonatal intensive care/ICU, maternity, mental health, rehabilitation, and surgery. The Nepean Campus has recently experienced tremendous growth and aims to support communities within and outside of Sydney’s western suburbs, providing world-class clinical facilities, services, and care.

We are seeking a passionate and skilled Dietitian to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality, evidence-based Nutrition and Dietetics services to inpatients, outpatients, and staff across the district. You will bring a strong foundation in general clinical dietetics and demonstrate a high level of clinical expertise and knowledge in your practice.

As part of your responsibilities, you will evaluate and develop dietetic services tailored to the needs of patients and staff, engage in regular quality improvement initiatives, and contribute to the advancement of nutritional care within the district. You will actively participate in ward rounds, case conferences, lectures, professional development sessions, and departmental meetings. Your role will also involve designing and implementing nutritional counselling and education programs, as well as contributing to the supervision and teaching of dietetics students.

What you will bring to the role

  1. Tertiary qualifications in Nutrition and Dietetics and eligible for full membership of the Dietitians Australia.
  2. Up-to-date knowledge and skills in nutrition and dietetic practice, including the inpatient acute care setting.
  3. Current experience as a clinicial dietitian with demonstrated post graduate experience.
  4. Demonstrated evidence of excellent oral and written communication skills, including experience and confidence within multi-disciplinary teams.
  5. Demonstrated ability to work successfully both as part of a team and independently, while managing a high paced and high volume workload.
  6. High level computer skills in a wide variety of applications/programs, including experience with Diet Office/Food service IT systems.
  7. Experience in nutrition related quality improvement projects focusing on improvements in clinical patient care and/or services.
  8. Current Driver's Licence and willingness to use for work purpose travel.
