Deputy Director of Pharmacy
A fantastic opportunity exists for an experienced pharmacist leader to join the Royal North Shore Hospital Leadership team. The Deputy Director of Pharmacy will assist the Director of Pharmacy and is responsible for the effective operations of the Royal North Shore Hospital Pharmacy Department. We are looking for a pharmacy leader who is a team player, committed to innovation, staff development, and excellence in contemporary pharmacy practice. The Deputy Director will promote the shared vision of the Director of Pharmacy and hospital leadership to support the effective and efficient delivery of services to optimise patient centred care and Quality Use of Medicines in line with relevant standards and legislation.

Where you'll be working
Royal North Shore Hospital – Royal North Shore is a principal tertiary referral hospital for Northern Sydney Local Health District providing a comprehensive range of complex services to patients from across NSW. It has a strong and proud history in education, research and provision of high quality clinical care. RNSH provides specialty services including major trauma, severe burns, spinal cord injuries, neonatal intensive care, bone marrow transplantation, neurosurgery and interventional neuroradiology alongside acute medical, surgical, mental health, paediatric, cancer and maternity services.
What you'll be doing
The Deputy Director is responsible for the day to day management of the pharmacy service. They support the Directorin the provision of high quality, safe and cost effective medicines management for patients of Royal North Shore Hospital.
People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background are encouraged to apply.
Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:
- Current registration as a pharmacist with the Pharmacy Board of Australia (or eligible for immediate registration).
- Extensive experience in hospital pharmacy practice in a major teaching hospital.
- Effective organisational skills including the ability to prioritise tasks in order to deliver safe and efficient patient services within a complex and dynamic environment.
- Demonstrated leadership in promoting safety, quality improvement and best practice.
- Understanding of the supply chain and financial matters pertaining to hospital pharmacy services.
