Award: Health Manager Level 5
Employment Type: Full Time - Exempt for up to 12 months (with the possibility of extension)

The Single Digital Patient Record Implementation Authority (SDPRIA) is leading the delivery of one of the most significant digital transformations in Australia’s public health system. SDPRIA is responsible for implementing the Single Digital Patient Record across NSW, working in partnership with Local Health Districts, Specialty Networks, eHealth NSW, shared services, pillar agencies, the Ministry of Health and Epic Systems.

The program is focused on improving patient outcomes, enabling integrated care and maximising value across the health system.

About the Opportunity

The Deputy Director of Finance plays a key leadership role in ensuring strong financial management, reporting and governance across the Single Digital Patient Record Implementation Authority. The role provides expert financial advice to executive leadership, leads high quality financial performance reporting and supports strategic planning and financial sustainability in line with NSW Health and NSW Treasury requirements.

In this role, you will:

  • Direct the delivery of high quality strategic and operational financial performance reporting to support effective business planning, budgeting, forecasting and resource management.
  • Lead the development, management and reporting of operating and capital budgets, financial forecasts and forward estimates.
  • Provide expert financial management advice and analysis to the Chief Executive and Leadership Team to inform decisions on budgets, capital programs and funding initiatives.
  • Establish and maintain strong financial management controls, governance and risk management frameworks to ensure compliance and long-term financial sustainability.
  • Lead, coach and mentor finance staff, supporting professional development, capability uplift and a constructive workplace culture.

About You

You are an experienced and credible finance leader who thrives in complex, fast paced environments. You bring strong technical financial expertise, experience working within large scale digital transformation programs and the ability to partner effectively with senior and executive leaders.

We are looking for someone with:

  • Extensive experience in financial management, commercial finance and financial planning and analysis within large scale digital transformation programs or similarly complex environments.
  • Ability to partner with senior and executive management to provide insightful and trusted financial advice.
  • Strong experience in program budgeting, forecasting, financial modelling, variance analysis and performance reporting.

  • Successful candidates may be required to complete multiple virtual Epic training sessions and Epic orientation, all scheduled in U.S. time. (for SDHA, DHA, DHL, Trainers, Solutions Architect, Migration Analyst, Functional Specialist reporting, data and reporting lead, data courier analyst, principal service mgr, BI Developer, Integration Analyst) 
  • 'Exempt' is defined as a fixed term contract with a length greater than 13 weeks.
