About the Opportunity:

The Deputy Director Medical Services and Research works with the Executive Director Medical Services and Research to provide senior clinical advice to the Chief Executive and Executive Directors in order to enable the effective delivery of safe, innovative, high quality and value-based health care. The position holder will deputise for the Executive Director as required, and will lead agreed clinical portfolios within the Office of Medical Services and Research.

The Deputy Director Medical Services supports the setting, maintenance and monitoring of all clinical standards for NSW Ambulance including medical, paramedical, nursing, psychology and pharmacy. This is achieved through establishing appropriate, integrated clinical policy objectives and establishing frameworks for clinical practice. Specifying clinical professional development programs across the multi-disciplinary health workforce and embedding a culture of professional practice, ethics and sense of professional identity across its practitioners will be a key requirement.

The position supports the safety, effectiveness and compliance of research activity undertaken at NSW Ambulance, in conjunction with the Associate Director of Research. This includes the development of internal research capability, implementing processes to ensure compliance with Research Governance requirements, and the establishment of collaborative research relationships with academic institutions and other research partners.

About You:

  • You are a highly experienced medical leader with a strong foundation in clinical governance, research oversight, and strategic healthcare delivery. Your background demonstrates exceptional ability to set and maintain clinical standards across diverse disciplines, while fostering a culture of professional practice and ethical integrity.

  •  With a proven track record in senior leadership roles, you combine strategic thinking with collaborative decision-making to drive innovation and operational excellence. You excel in building partnerships across internal teams and external research organisations, ensuring compliance with governance frameworks and advancing evidence-based practice.

  • Your outstanding communication skills enable you to articulate complex clinical and research concepts to varied audiences, lead organisational change, and inspire multidisciplinary teams.

How to Apply:

Please respond to the below two questions (max 4000 characters including spaces) and submit this with your CV and other required information.
