Our District’s Oral Health (Dental) services are provided to eligible patients at the following locations: Nepean Centre for Oral Health, Blue Mountains Hospital Dental Clinic, Hawkesbury Dental Clinic, and the Lithgow Hospital Dental Clinic. The team offers public dental services including diagnosis, restorative and preventative treatments, pain relief and dentures.
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Senior Dental Prosthetist to join our team at the Nepean Centre for Oral Health. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for delivering a high standard of general oral health and denture care to eligible patients across the Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District (NBMLHD). You will oversee the provision of denture services and support the work of dental technicians, ensuring excellence in clinical outcomes and patient care.
This role involves managing the delivery of removable oral prosthetic care, including complex prosthetic cases and the integration of digital dentistry techniques. You will supervise and guide dental technicians and prosthetists, ensuring quality and consistency in service delivery. A strong commitment to infection control and compliance with NBMLHD Oral Health Infection Prevention Policy is essential. You will also be responsible for conducting thorough oral examinations, including assessment of soft and hard tissues, for each patient under your care.

What you will bring to the role
- Have current registration with the Dental Board and AHPRA as dental Prosthetist.
- Ability to show high level of competency in the exercise of all the skills of the Advanced Diploma of Dental Prosthetist training.
- Demonstrated experience in managing patients with complex prosthodontic needs and
- Demonstrated knowledge of digital dentistry workflow including CAD/CAM for the manufacturing of removal dental prosthesis and dentures.
- Demonstrated experience in the management of dental Lab technical issues and supervising/ mentoring dental technicians.
- Excellent organisational, time-management and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated Effective communication skills with peers, managers, and the ability to work in a team environment.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Infection Control guidelines and procedures.
