Hunter New England Oral Health is seeking passionate and experienced Dental Assistants to join our supportive and collaborative team in the vibrant city of Tamworth, NSW. You’ll be part of a dynamic network of Dental Assistants and Dental Practitioners, delivering high-quality care across a variety of clinics throughout the Hunter New England region.

What you'll be doing 
In this role, you will provide chairside support and clinical assistance across a broad spectrum of general and specialist dental procedures. You'll work closely with clinicians to ensure the delivery of exceptional patient care, maintaining strict standards of infection control and safety. Your responsibilities will also include supporting General Anaesthetic sessions and engaging in rural outreach clinics, offering valuable experience in diverse clinical environments.
You will have access to regular training and professional development programs, allowing you to continually enhance your skills and stay up to date with the latest practices. A comprehensive orientation and ongoing support will be provided by the Oral Health management team to ensure your success in the role.

About you 
We’re looking for someone who holds a Certificate III in Dental Assisting or is an experienced unqualified Dental Assistant with strong clinical competence. You will have the ability to deliver high-quality dental assistance in line with infection control and patient safety standards. Strong communication skills, both oral and written, are essential, along with the ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a team. You’ll also need to demonstrate sound clinical reasoning, confidence in problem-solving, and a professional and compassionate approach to patient care. Familiarity with clinical computer applications is an advantage.

Requirements

  • Current Dental Assistant Certificate recognised by the Dental Assistant Education Council of Australia up to the level of Certificate 3 and or unqualified but experienced dental assistant.
  • Eligibility to drive in NSW

  • This position is full time; however, part time/job share arrangements may also be considered.
