Where you'll be working:
The Newcastle Dental Clinic is in prime location to the heart of Newcastle, with a short walk to Marketown shops and Honeysuckle. The clinic is open 5 days a week between 8:00am - 4:30pm, providing high-quality dental care for adults and children, general dental, and speciality care in a newly renovated 7 chair dental clinic servicing the Newcastle and surrounding regions.

The team includes of Dentists, Oral Health Therapist, Prosthetist and Dental Assistants that are well-equipped to provide oral health services to our community. The clinic's purpose and our ongoing commitment is to continue to provide the best patient care possible to our community whilst celebrating our culturally diverse team and empowering our staff to embrace our differences.

About the role:
As a Dental Assistant, you will play a crucial role in the smooth operation of our busy 7-chair clinic. Reporting to the Clinic Coordinator, you'll handle both clinical and administrative tasks, ensuring efficient delivery of high-quality dental services. Your role will involve providing comprehensive support to our dental team and contributing to exceptional patient experiences.

You will be provided with an orientation programme to Hunter New England Oral Health, and you will be supported with regular training and education programmes throughout your career.

About you:

  • The successful candidate will have a positive attitude with a strong desire to assist in the delivery of excellent dental care.
  • You will also possess a high level of competencies in performing and assisting with all oral health care procedures and a solid understanding of infection control principles.
  • Your well-developed oral and written communication skills and ability to work efficiently and effectively in a team setting will be the key to your success in this role.


Requirements:

  • Current Dental Assistant Certificate recognised by the Dental Assistant Education Council of Australia up to the level of Certificate 3 and or unqualified but experienced dental assistant.
