Dental Assistant
Cowra Community Dental Clinic

About the role
We are looking for a highly motivated Dental Assistant to join the Oral Health Service at the modern five-chair Cowra Community Dental Clinic, located within Cowra Hospital. While previous dental assisting experience is desirable, we are happy to provide on-the-job training for the right candidate who is genuinely seeking a long-term career in the dental industry.

In this rewarding role, you will provide four-handed chairside assistance to dental clinicians, support instrument reprocessing and infection prevention and control, undertake reception and administrative duties using electronic patient record systems, and work collaboratively with the dental team to deliver high-quality, patient-centred care.

You will also participate in outreach services to surrounding communities and mobile school dental programs, with occasional overnight stays required, helping improve access to oral health services across the region. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent communication skills, a commitment to quality improvement, the ability to build positive relationships with patients and colleagues, and an understanding of infection control principles and safe clinical practice.

This position offers the benefit of a 9-day fortnight, giving you one day off every two weeks, with working hours of Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 8:00am–5:00pm, and Wednesday 8:00am–4:45pm.
