This position qualifies for an annual Recruitment Incentive Package up to the value of $10,000 (conditions apply and may be pro-rata’d to your contracted or ordinary working hours, these payments are paid on a fortnightly basis) under the NSW Health Rural Health Workforce Incentive Scheme.

This scheme recognises the role key health workers play in enabling the delivery of rural and remote health services, and aims to provide incentives over and above award entitlements, to attract and retain staff in these areas.

About the Opportunity
  • Senior Clinical role in the Critical Care Outreach Team Service which allows diversity to action change whilst also being involved in patient centred care
  • Provide expert knowledge & skills in the detection, management and evaluation of care of the previously, potentially or actual critically ill patient in the general ward and critical care areas
  • Be instrumental in clinical audits and reviews that guide changes in practice
  • Utilise critical thinking & patient assessment to formulate plans of care with Senior Medical team & Nursing staff
  • Provide expert knowledge and skills in the detection, management and evaluation of care of the previously, potentially or actual critically ill patient in the general ward and critical care areas

How to Apply
To be considered for this position, please ensure you address the selection criteria in the application as thoroughly as possible:

  • Current nursing/midwifery registration with the Australia Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  • Minimum of three (3) years post graduate experience in adult critical care with relevant tertiary qualification in Critical Care or working towards same.
  • Proven ability to effectively function as a part of a team, create and maintain a positive workplace culture and articulate and achieve a vision for nursing services in the critical care environment.
  • Demonstrated application of sound and contemporary knowledge of nursing practice issues in the critical care environment and in the recognition and management of deteriorating patients.
  • Demonstrate effective interpersonal skills, excellent written, verbal communication skills and ability to negotiate resolutions and resolve conflict.
  • Proven ability to implement changes and develop direction in clinical practice through planning quality and quality management.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop, implement, present and evaluate education, clinical procedures and policies to staff and the community.
  • Currently certificate in Adult Advance Life Support.
