Provide high quality administration support including telephone communication and data entry to ensure effective and efficient functioning of the HNE Oral Health Contact Centre.

About the opportunity:
Contact Centre operators take a high volume of inbound calls for requests for dental care from eligible patients using a telephone triage tool to determine their priority for services. They also use an electronic appointment book, place patients on waiting lists, and answer general dental enquiries. They need to be confident in moving through different applications on a computer when on a call. During call down time, operators may be asked to carry out other administrative functions under the direction of a supervisor.
About you:
The successful applicant will need to demonstrate a caring, and empathetic oral communication style with callers. You will need to be able to handle difficult callers and follow policy to answer enquiries in a professional manner.
The successful candidate will have:
You have experience in a high-volume inbound call centre or a busy medical/dental reception environment.
You are confident using multiple computer applications at once while maintaining rapport on the phone.
You have strong skills in Microsoft Outlook, Windows file management, and navigating electronic booking systems.
You follow policies, procedures, and triage guidelines accurately to ensure safe and consistent service delivery.
You are a reliable team player with a positive attitude and a strong commitment to customer service.
You manage time well, stay organised under pressure, and adapt quickly to new systems or workflow changes.
You handle sensitive information confidentially and communicate with cultural awareness and respect.
You are open to feedback, eager to learn, and comfortable working in a structured, supportive environment.
Training and Support:
The successful applicant will be given time to carry out Corporate Orientation during their shifts. Site orientation will be carried out on their first day. The applicant will be supported with one-on-one training over a period of weeks and will be mentored daily when taking calls until they can confidently work on their own. After this time, they can approach a shift supervisor at any time during for support or advice in call management.
