Specialist mental health services are offered in general inpatient settings, providing consult liaison and outpatient care across multiple sites. This stable, high-performing team operates within a strong, positive culture.
The Consult Liaison and Mental Health Substance Use Service Manager (MHSUS) will lead these teams, ensuring seamless collaboration and high-quality service delivery across the region to ensure collaborative, clinically sound care.
About the Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced leader to manage and inspire a multidisciplinary team focused on mental health service delivery. In this pivotal role, you will:
- Lead the team in shaping the direction and delivery of mental health services, ensuring staff are qualified and supported to maintain a safe environment for clients, staff, and visitors.
- Build and sustain strong partnerships with internal and external stakeholders, fostering integrated community and inpatient care.
- Oversee key employee functions including recruitment, induction, staff development, and performance management to drive service excellence.
- Manage and coordinate resources efficiently to meet service and budgetary targets.

You’ll report directly to the Operations Manager and be supported by a strong network of Mental Health peers and the broader MH team. You’ll also have ongoing access to internal training and peer support.

- You have a strong clinical background in mental health services and bring confidence and capability in your communication.
- You engage effectively with both internal and external stakeholders, representing the organisation with professionalism and skill.
- You possess excellent negotiation abilities and a high level of emotional intelligence.
You manage yourself well in a fast-paced environment with multiple competing priorities.
Requirements
- Tertiary qualifications in a health related discipline and registration or eligibility for registration (where applicable) with relevant professional registration body and/or membership of the relevant professional organisation or extensive work experience deemed equivalent by the employer.
Eligible to drive in NSW and willingness to travel across sites.
Additional InformationThis position is full time; however, part time/job share arrangements may also be considered.
