Looking for a role where you can build lasting relationships with patients while enjoying a Monday-to-Friday working week?
Join the Community Nursing Team at Glen Innes Health Service and make a meaningful difference to the health and wellbeing of people in your local community.

This is an opportunity to use your clinical expertise beyond the hospital setting, supporting patients to manage their health, maintain their independence and receive quality care in the comfort of their own homes.
With permanent full-time and part-time opportunities considered, this role offers the chance to find a working arrangement that suits your lifestyle while continuing to do the work you love.

About the Opportunity

As a Community Registered Nurse, you’ll deliver high-quality, person-centred nursing care to patients with a range of clinical needs, both within the health service and in their homes.
You’ll work collaboratively with patients, families, carers and the broader multidisciplinary team to promote positive health outcomes, prevent avoidable hospital presentations and help people remain well within their community.

Your clinical responsibilities will include:

  • Wound management: Assessing, treating and monitoring wounds, with a focus on achieving positive patient outcomes.
  • Catheter care: Performing catheter changes and providing ongoing clinical support.
  • Palliative care: Delivering compassionate care and supporting patients and their families.
  • Medication management: Providing safe medication administration, monitoring and patient education.
  • Community-based care: Supporting patients in their homes and within the health service.
  • Care coordination: Working with patients, families and healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated, individualised care.

You won’t be doing it alone. You’ll have support from the Nurse Unit Manager, experienced nursing colleagues and specialist services, including wound care expertise, education and professional development opportunities.

About You

We’re looking for a compassionate, confident and motivated Registered Nurse who enjoys building relationships with patients and values the difference community nursing can make.
You’ll bring strong clinical judgement, a proactive approach to care and the ability to work independently while remaining connected to a supportive team.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse.
  • Qualifications or extensive experience in wound management — essential.
  • Previous community nursing experience, desirable but not essential.
  • Strong clinical assessment, communication and organisational skills.
  • A commitment to safe, evidence-based and person-centred care.
  • The ability to manage your workload independently and collaborate effectively with the multidisciplinary team.
  • A genuine passion for supporting people to remain healthy, independent and connected to their local community.
