Achieve Something Great
The Macarthur Community Mental Health Emergency Team (CoMHET) provides a dynamic and rewarding opportunity to work within an innovative acute community mental health service. Operating under an Acute Care Service Model, CoMHET delivers rapid assessment, short-term intensive intervention, and crisis support to individuals experiencing acute mental health concerns across the Macarthur region.

As a Mental Health Professional within CoMHET, you will play a pivotal role in providing timely mental health assessments, determining appropriate pathways to care, and delivering evidence-based interventions aimed at supporting consumers in the least restrictive environment possible. The team focuses on providing intensive short-term treatment in the community, often as an alternative to hospital admission, until acute symptoms have stabilised and ongoing care can be transitioned to the most appropriate service.

Assessments and interventions are delivered through a combination of face-to-face consultations, telehealth, telephone support, and community outreach, including home visits. CoMHET operates a seven-day rotating roster, covering morning (8:30am to 5:00pm) and evening (2:00pm to 10:30pm) shifts, with strong clinical support provided by experienced Team Leaders and Senior Mental Health Professionals. This is an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of people experiencing mental health crises while working within a highly skilled, collaborative, and supportive multidisciplinary team.

As a pool clinician, you’ll begin by supporting one of our teams to fill a current vacancy. As new opportunities arise across our mental health services, you may be offered the chance to transition to other teams—providing you with valuable experience and exposure across the diverse services within SWSLHD Community Mental Health.Future roles may become available at Ingleburn, Bankstown, Campbelltown, Ambarvale, Liverpool, Fairfield, and Wollondilly.

Temporary visa holders are welcome to apply! We offer roles with contract periods aligned to your current visa length.
