Join South Western Sydney Local Health District and contribute to the effective, safe and compliant delivery of clinical trials that support better health outcomes for the community. The Clinical Trial Systems Officer plays an integral role in supporting clinical research through the coordination and optimisation of clinical trial systems, including CTMS, eMR and Veeva e-ISF. Working closely with clinical trial teams, the Research Governance Office, sponsors, CROs and external partners, the role contributes to high-quality data management, user support, training, audit readiness and continuous improvement initiatives. Through maintaining accurate systems, supporting data integrity and ensuring compliance with Good Clinical Practice, regulatory requirements and district policies, this role helps strengthen the quality and efficiency of clinical research across SWSLHD.


Are You the Right Fit? 
The successful candidate will demonstrate strong organisational, administrative and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to coordinate system access, maintain databases and trackers, support CTMS study builds, and provide timely assistance to users across multiple clinical research platforms. They will have experience developing training resources, user guides and communications, maintaining SharePoint and knowledge management systems, supporting audits and compliance activities, and identifying opportunities to improve processes and workflows. With excellent attention to detail, strong communication skills and the ability to manage competing priorities, the ideal candidate will provide reliable operational and project support while fostering effective collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to support the objectives of the Clinical Trials Systems Unit.


Selection Criteria 
To help us assess your suitability for the role, please tell us as much as you can about yourself in response to the questions below. 

  • Demonstrated relevant qualifications (e.g. bachelor’s degree in health science or equivalent) or relevant equivalent work experience in, or a combination of study and work experience.
  • Proficiency in the use of digital/electronic systems, Microsoft Office applications, with the ability to learn and adapt to new systems.
  • Demonstrated experience in the development, management, and reporting of data and data systems for clinical research
  • Excellent project management skills with demonstrated ability to prioritise, have attention to detail, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines in a highly paced environment
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare documentation, reports, meeting papers and minutes, and stakeholder correspondence, with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated understanding of GCP, clinical trials processes, and/or research governance requirements
  • Applicants must possess an Australian C-Class driver's license (including P1 or P2). Those who hold a C class license (P1 or P2 included) from a state other than NSW must obtain a NSW C class (P1 or P2 included) license within three months of appointment. Learner's licenses are not permitted.
