This is an excellent opportunity join a dynamic team of Clinical Psychologists working in the Statewide SHBBV Psychology Services, based in Surry Hills, formerly known as The Albion Centre.  

Job share arrangements will be considered if viable.    

What you'll be doing

The clinical psychologist role is to provide expert care and to promote the well-being of people living with and affected by HIV, sexually transmissible infections (STIs) and other emerging infectious diseases. This position provides a direct service role to clients and their significant others in the detection, diagnosis, treatment and assessment of changes in mental and behavioural functioning, directly or indirectly to psychological and behavioural disorders as a component of individual, family health and lifestyle.

Selection Criteria

  1. Full registration with the Psychology Board of Australia, with Endorsement in Clinical Psychology (or eligibility to progress to same), along with a minimum two-year full-time equivalent Master or Doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology.
  2. Demonstrated experience in the provision of evidence-based psychological assessment, intervention and evaluation of clinical outcomes with adults living with HIV and/or other chronic health conditions, drug and alcohol, mental health and/or crisis presentations.
  3. Capacity to design and implement treatment protocols for a range of psychological issues.
  4. Demonstrate high level written and verbal communication skills, organisational skills and time management skills.
  5. Ability to provide in-depth advice and education to enhance service delivery and to guide and support others in providing service excellence, with the capacity to provide clinical supervision to other staff.
  6. Demonstrated experience working as part of a multi-disciplinary team in a health setting.
  7. Demonstrated experience in and commitment to quality improvement and research.
  8. A willingness to travel in accordance with the demands of the position.
