Are you ready for your next career step in Palliative Care?

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced, compassionate and motivated clinical psychologist to be permanently appointed to our Supportive Care role. You will have the opportunity to contribute clinical expertise and provide evidence-based psychological assessment and intervention services to patients within the last 12-24 months of life known to the St George Hospital Supportive Care Service. We look forward to welcoming an enthusiastic and effective clinician to enhance our team!

The Role

The vision for South Eastern Sydney Local Health District (SESLHD) is ‘exceptional care, healthier lives’. SESLHD is committed to enabling our community to be healthy and well, and to providing the best possible compassionate care when people need it.

The Clinical Psychologist will have responsibility for providing evidence-based psychological assessment and intervention services to people living within SESLHD who have end of life and palliative care needs in the last 12-24 months of life, and are known to the Supportive Care Service (SCS) at St George Hospital (SGH).

Within this role, there will be a requirement to undertake clinical reviews across clinic, community and virtual care settings, either alone or in conjunction with a multidisciplinary team member. This role will also focus on building the capability of inpatient clinicians by supporting them to identify unmet palliative care and end-of-life needs, promoting early referrals to specialist palliative care services, and acting as a conduit for communication between the ward-based clinicians and the palliative care multidisciplinary team (MDT). You will need to have a drivers licence to undertake this role.

In addition to the above, there will be opportunities to lead education and research across the site and to undertake strategic planning activities.
