Where you'll be working:
Manning Mental Health Service is made up of Care Coordination, Intake and Acute Care Teams. We operate as an acute outpatient mental health service who provide consultation, assessment, treatment and follow up of adults and their families within the Lower Mid North Coast community. Our service supports consumers with transition from hospital into the community through medication monitoring, psychoeducation, relapse prevention, organising of psychiatry reviews and liaising with support services.

You will be provided with a full orientation to the mental health service and you will be supported through ongoing in-service and encouragement to complete in-house/external training where relevant to the role.

About you:
You will be a motivated and enthusiastic worker, who is able to contribute their knowledge in mental health to be part of a multidisciplinary team. You will be directly supported by the senior leaders, Manning Service Manager as well as the broader Manning Mental Health team.

We are seeking applicants with:

  • Knowledge and experience in mental health practice that demonstrates an understanding of and commitment to contemporary mental health service delivery principles, including intake intervention, shared care models of practice and consumer, family/carer focused interventions.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the principles of trauma informed care and its application in working with people with mental health concerns and their families /carers.
  • Evidence of ability to build and maintain cooperative professional and therapeutic relationships with key stakeholders, patients and their parents or guardians through the application of well-developed interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate and work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment to achieve optimal outcomes for consumers and their families/carers.
  • Current registration as a Psychologist with Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Completion of an Australian Psychology Accreditation Council accredited postgraduate clinical psychology qualification of no less than two years full time duration or recognised equivalent, displayed on the Psychology Board of Australia website.
