About the Role:

Join the South West Brain Injury Rehabilitation Service (SWBIRS) as a Psychologist/ Clinical Psychologist and make a meaningful impact in the lives of clients and families living with an acquired brain injury. This is a community-based position within Murrumbidgee Local Health District (MLHD), focused on delivering high-quality, evidence-based psychological assessment, diagnosis, and treatment to improve client outcomes.

You will work as part of a skilled multidisciplinary team, contributing your expertise to a specialist rehabilitation service while also supporting other MLHD services by arrangement.

*We are primarily seeking a Clinical Psychologist or Neuropsychologist; however experienced Psychologists are encouraged to apply.

Key Deliverables:

  • Conduct comprehensive psychological and neuropsychological assessments and produce high-quality written reports in line with APS and NSW SIRA Guidelines

  • Deliver evidence-based psychological interventions including counselling, therapy, and psychoeducation to support clients and families following acquired brain injury

  • Collaborate with clients and the multidisciplinary team to develop personalised, goal-oriented rehabilitation plans, including for compensable clients under CTP, TAC, WorkCover, and icare

  • Manage and prioritise a clinical caseload effectively, liaising with MLHD services and external agencies as required

  • Support student supervision, professional development, research, and the development of policy and clinical practice guidelines

Our ideal candidate will demonstrate:

  1. Current AHPRA registration as a psychologist, with a master’s degree or higher endorsed in Clinical Psychology or Clinical Neuropsychology, or extensive clinical experience as a psychologist.

  2. Bring extensive experience in psychological and/or neuropsychological assessment and evidence-based intervention within a rehabilitation or mental health framework

  3. Work effectively within a multidisciplinary team while applying independent professional judgement in complex clinical situations and independently managing a clinical caseload

  4. Possess strong communication skills and the ability to lead quality improvement, professional development, and service evaluation initiatives
