Based in Bondi Junction, The Early Psychosis Programme is a specialist multi-disciplinary community mental health team providing interventions to young people (14 – 25) who have experienced First Episode Psychosis. This role will involve providing expert support and interventions to the families young consumers, as well as providing advice and consultation to the MDT.

Selection Criteria: 

To be considered for this position, please ensure you address the below questions as thoroughly as possible.

  1. Current Registration as a Psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) with endorsement as a Clinical Psychologist or Clinical Neuropsychology (or working towards endorsement) along with a minimum two-year full-time accredited postgraduate Masters or Doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology or Neuropsychology or some other recognised clinical area in Psychology. Current NSW Drivers License.
  2. Demonstrated understanding of Early Intervention philosophy, principles and practice.
  3. Experience working with young people (14-25 years) with mental health concerns, and knowledge of the mental health needs of young consumers with early psychosis and their families.
  4. Detailed understanding and demonstrated experience in provision of evidence-based psychological interventions for psychosis, including CBT.
  5. Experience in providing comprehensive mental health assessment, formulation and treatment planning.
  6. Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively within the multi-disciplinary team and with a diverse range of stakeholders including consumers, families and service providers.
  7. Highly developed skills in engagement and therapeutic alliance. Demonstrated understanding and application of recovery and strengths based interventions.
  8. Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement, evidence based practice and ongoing clinical and professional learning.
