Join a compassionate, patient-focused team delivering Community Palliative Care across Paramatta, Blacktown, Auburn, The Hills, and Mount Druitt. You’ll work closely with a multidisciplinary team to provide holistic care to patients and their families.

What you'll be doing 
In this specialist role, you will provide comprehensive psychological assessment and intervention to patients approaching end of life, as well as their families and carers. You will exercise independent clinical judgement while ensuring care is evidence-based, culturally responsive and ethically grounded.

·       Deliver assessment, formulation, diagnosis and evidence-based interventions

·       Provide individual, joint and group counselling, including bereavement support

·       Consult with and contribute to multidisciplinary case conferences and care planning

·       Support families and carers experiencing complex psychosocial needs

·       Provide clinical supervision, education and contribute to quality improvement initiatives

 

This role will suit a compassionate and resilient Clinical Psychologist with experience in health, oncology, palliative care or grief and bereavement, who is confident working autonomously while remaining deeply connected to team-based care.

Essential Criteria:

·       Qualification: Completion of an Australian Psychology Accreditation Council accredited postgraduate clinical psychology masters or doctorate   

·       Registration: Current general registration as a psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency 

 

Selection Criteria: 

1.     Master's degree or higher in Clinical Psychology and registered as a Psychologist with general registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) with an Area of Practice Endorsement in Clinical Psychology.

2.     Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team to accomplish service goals and improved patient and/or consumer care and outcomes.

3.     Demonstrated skills in working with patients and carers providing assessment, management planning and delivery of psychological services.

4.     Demonstrated experience in mental health including experience in cognitive-behavioural therapy and other relevant therapeutic techniques (which may include group therapy, ACT, mindfulness techniques, family therapy, and interventions for complex grief, among others).

5.     Demonstrated high level verbal and written communication skills with the ability to adapt communication style to suit the target audience including the ability to communicate in a sensitive and professional manner with patients and staff.

6.     6.Computer literacy, and adequate quality improvement / research skills.

7.     NSW Class C drivers license and willingness to use for work purposes.
