Join the Budyari Gumada Unit at the Blacktown Mental Health Recovery Centre (BMHRC), located on the Blacktown Hospital Campus. As part of Western Sydney Local Health District's Mental Health Services, you'll work within a purpose-built forensic mental health facility dedicated to supporting recovery for people living with severe and persistent mental illness. What you'll be doing 
As a Clinical Psychologist, you'll provide high-level psychological assessment, intervention and rehabilitation for consumers within the forensic mental health service. Working alongside a highly skilled multidisciplinary team, you'll play a pivotal role in supporting recovery, managing complex clinical presentations and contributing to positive long-term outcomes.

• Deliver comprehensive psychological assessments, evidence-based individual therapy and therapeutic group programs for forensic consumers.

• Prepare specialist forensic psychological reports for the Mental Health Review Tribunal and contribute to risk assessments, risk management and care planning.

• Support rehabilitation, recovery and discharge planning while building strong partnerships with hospital, government and community services.

• Contribute to service development, quality improvement, research initiatives and ongoing enhancement of forensic psychological practice.

• Provide supervision, education and mentoring to students and multidisciplinary colleagues while maintaining your own professional development.

How to Apply

Essential Requirements:

• Qualification: Master or Doctorate of Clinical Psychology or Forensic Psychology   

• Registration: Full registration as Psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) with an area of practice endorsement in Clinical Psychology (or Forensic Psychology) 

Selection Criteria:

1. Hold a Masters or Doctorate of Clinical Psychology or Forensic Psychology and have full registration as a Psychologist with AHPRA. 2 years Length of full registration / practice.

2. Sound working knowledge of psychiatric disorders and demonstrated experience providing neuropsychological and clinical assessments for adults diagnosed with a mental illness.

3. Demonstrated experience in providing evidence-based individual and group-based interventions and assessments, and knowledge of how to refer inpatients and outpatients for evidence-based clinical assessments and therapy for adults diagnosed with a mental illness.

4. Demonstrated experience providing high-quality MHRT and forensic reports, including ability to express case formulation and risk management plans would be an advantage.

5. Proven experience working in a multidisciplinary mental health setting and maintaining team work processes as well as highly developed self-initiation and organisation skills

6. Highly developed written and verbal communication skills

7. Experience in Clinical Supervision and training other professionals.
