NBMLHD Community Mental Health offers a range of specialised services for children, young people, families and older people, through our community-based services and health centres. Our multidisciplinary health professionals and case managers take a collaborative approach to mental health care by linking with their patients to work together and consult within an environment appropriate to the person's needs.
We are seeking a committed and compassionate Clinical Psychologist to join the Older Persons Community Teams within NBMLHD. In this role, you will deliver recovery-oriented and evidence-based psychological services to adults aged 65 years and over who are experiencing mental health difficulties in the community, including those residing in Residential Aged Care Facilities.
Your work will encompass comprehensive assessment, care planning, brief interventions, and short-term case management, ensuring that both clients and their carers receive the highest standard of support. As part of a multidisciplinary team, you will contribute your expertise to integrated care approaches that promote wellbeing, independence, and quality of life for older members of our community.

What you will bring to the role
- Full registration with AHPRA and a Postgraduate masters of doctorate degree in clinical psychology
- Demonstrated ability in assessment, diagnosis, case formulation and development of treatment strategies in cognitive, emotional, motivational, personality and behaviour disturbance in older adults in a range of health care settings
- Experience, skills and knowledge to assess, plan interventions, and develop care plans in consultation with older consumers and carers. Ability to implement and evaluate care plans
- Demonstrated experience providing clinical/professional supervision for psychologists/clinical psychologists
- Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team and organise individual work effectively
- Demonstrated experience working with consumers and carers over the age of 65 years, including an understanding of the issues for older people experiencing mental health issues
- Proven effective high level written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal skills and ability to exercise independent professional judgement when solving problems
- NSW Driver Licence Current (P1 or above) and willingness to use same for work purposes
