How to apply
To be considered for this position, please ensure you address the selection criteria in the application as thoroughly as possible:

  • Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Agency (AHPRA) with relevant post registration qualifications (i.e. sexual health, family planning, women's health, obstetrics and gynaecology and emergency nursing) and at least 3 years' experience working in the clinical area of their specified post-graduate qualification, or such other qualifications or equivalent experience deemed appropriate by the organisation. Completed, working towards or willing to undertake NSW Health Education Centre Against Violence Graduate Certificate in the Medical and Forensic Management of Adult Sexual Assault (or equivalent).
  • Demonstrated competencies in providing nursing care in the context of a multidisciplinary team and commitment to providing integrated psychosocial, medical and forensic responses to people experiencing violence, abuse and neglect.
  • Demonstrated commitment to and experience in service development and quality improvement including the capacity to initiate change and negotiate support from key stakeholders and coordinate clinical audit activities.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide high quality, trauma-informed and culturally safe care to clients who have experienced violence, abuse and neglect and may present as highly distressed.
  • Highly developed clinical skills in patient assessment and care planning with demonstrated ability to provide a referral service as required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills enabling collaborative work with colleagues, other health professionals and individuals to provide safe and effective care.
  • Demonstrated clinical expertise in client consultancy with the ability and willingness to work autonomously, accept responsibility and the ability to prioritise work practices.
  • Evidence of current unrestricted NSW drivers licence and a willingness to provide outreach throughout the Far West LHD and have the willingness to drive long distances with the occasional over night stay.
