Are you passionate about education? The Medical Imaging Department at RNSH is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to provide clinical leadership in the role of Clinical Nurse Educator. The position is a temporary job share arrangement, 14 hours pw for 12 months.

The Medical Imaging Department is one of the largest departments at Royal North Shore Hospital and provides a comprehensive imaging service which encompasses Radiology, Interventional and Nuclear Medicine / PET. You will be working as part of a multi-disciplinary team providing patient centred care in a dynamic environment. As a member of our team, your individual contribution will become an integral part of the ongoing mission to provide quality imaging services to the patients of our key partners including Emergency, Intensive Care, Anaesthetics and all other departments spanning inpatients and clinics. Nursing expertise is a key element of the services which supports procedural components such as Interventional Radiology and Interventional Neuro Radiology which provides support for the Stroke Service and Endovascular Clot Retrieval (ECR), Trauma services, Oncology, Theranostics and Nurse-Led sedation. Professional development is a key focus to ensure the success of our nursing team.

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria: 

  1. Holds AHPRA Registration as a Registered Nurse AND holds relevant clinical or education post registration qualifications or such education and clinical experience deemed appropriate by the employer.
  2. Demonstrated effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  3. Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  4. Demonstrated ability to practice safe nursing care and knowledge of policies and clinical practice guidelines.
  5. Demonstrated commitment to evidence based practice, continuous quality improvement and risk management.
