What you'll be doing
The Clinical Nurse Educator will work in partnership with the Nurse Unit Manager to lead, coordinate, develop and implement structured learning and professional development programs for nursing staff within the Virtual Care Service (VCS).
The Clinical Nurse Educator will provide clinical education, orientation, competency assessment, skills accreditation and professional development support for nursing staff delivering virtual, clinic-based and outreach nursing care. They will promote evidence-based practice, support the delivery of safe, high-quality, patient-centred care, and contribute to continuous improvement across the service.
The Clinical Nurse Educator will contribute to the delivery of NSLHD Nursing Orientation, mandatory education and service-specific training. They will also develop and facilitate education programs relevant to virtual models of nursing care and may teach in nursing courses within NSLHD and at external organisations, including travel to other sites within the LHD as required.
People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background are encouraged to apply.
Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:
  1. Holds AHPRA Registration as a Registered Nurse AND holds relevant clinical or education post registration qualifications or such education and clinical experience deemed appropriate by the employer.
  2. Demonstrated effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  3. Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  4. Demonstrated ability to practice safe nursing care and knowledge of policies and clinical practice guidelines.
  5. Demonstrated commitment to evidence based practice, continuous quality improvement and risk management.
  6. Current NSW Drivers Licence.
