  • Remuneration: $55.31-$57.11 per hour + superannuation + annual leave loading + salary packaging options 

THE ROLE:

The Clinical Nurse Educator plays a vital role in supporting and enhancing nursing practice at Calvary Mater Newcastle. This position focuses on delivering high-quality clinical education and fostering a culture of ongoing learning and professional development among nursing staff. The role also involves providing support across a range of education programs, including the Assistant in Nursing (AIN) Program, Transitional Support Programs and more.

DUTIES:

  • Ability to function within a clinical environment at an advanced practice level.
  • Provides leadership in the ongoing review of clinical practice within surgical services.
  • Disseminates research findings relevant to clinical practice.
  • Delivers teaching and provide learning opportunities in the clinical environment utilising facilitation, communication skills and advanced professional practice knowledge and surgical skills.
  • Coordination of professional development to meet identified surgical training needs.

ABOUT YOU:

  • Registered Nurse authorised to practice by Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency, and 3 years full time post graduate experience and 2 years’ experience in care and management of general surgical patients.
  • Relevant Post Graduate Qualifications in surgery, acute care, education and or current Workplace Training and Assessment Cert IV.
  • Demonstrated expertise in clinical teaching, education and training
  • Demonstrated current advanced clinical knowledge and practice in surgical nursing
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a member of a multidisciplinary team
  • Demonstrated leadership, communication, organisational and interpersonal skills
  • Able to work proficiently in periods of high demand and activity.
