What You'll Be Doing
As the Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC), you will be a vital leader in the delivery of specialised, safe, and effective oncology care. Working in close collaboration with the Clinical Nurse Manager, infusion unit staff, and the Muswellbrook Oncologist, you will bring expert clinical knowledge and leadership to support best practices and positive outcomes across the patient journey. On any given day, you will be delivering direct, specialised care to patients with all types of cancer; providing new patient education and coordinating educational sessions for staff; and acting as a key point of coordination for patient flow and continuity of care.

You won’t be working alone. You’ll be supported by the Clinical Nurse Manager of the hospital, as well as your fellow colleagues within the Cancer Services Network. A thorough orientation will be provided to you, and ongoing professional development is supported and encouraged. Our small, tight knit team is looking forward to welcoming you to the fold!

As our newest CNC, you will:
1) Provide clinical nursing expertise in oncology
2) Be an excellent communicator and be able to interact with empathy towards patients and their families
3) Have experience in managing complex patient caseloads
4) Have a genuine commitment to patient-centred care, respect for patient autonomy, and cultural sensitivity.
