The Clinical Nurse Consultant’s role is to provide Immunisation expertise and knowledge, and support the Immunisation nurses to manage the following:

• Cold chain breaches and re-vaccination schedules
• Determining Immunisation catch-up schedules
• Arranging rabies post-exposure prophylaxis
• Approving new Vaccine Account Numbers for GPs and pharmacies
• Providing advice on how to manage AEFIs and vaccine administration errors.

Employment Type: Temporary Full Time until 30 June 2026 (with possibility of ongoing employment)

Remuneration: $2,603.12 - $2,655.03 per week

What you'll be doing
The Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC) is an expert nursing who will provide leadership, advice and recommendations on all aspects of nursing and consults on matters relating to the safe and appropriate use of nursing practices. 

The CNC will formulate and implement policy, guide practice development, and engage in education and research activities. The CNC is responsible for the provision of clinical supervision to nursing staff and acts as a role model, providing nursing care on a regular basis.

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:
 

  1. Registered Nurse - Division 1 with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and Authorised Nurse Immuniser (as per requirements of Authorised Registered Nurse/Midwife Vaccination Standards and Authority). Minimum five years full time post graduate experience with 3 years full time equivalent in the Immunisation field, including current experience with immunisation practice.
  2. Sound knowledge of relevant immunisation policies and guidelines, including the National Immunisation Program Schedule, Australian Immunisation Handbook and National Vaccine Storage "Strive for 5" guidelines.
  3. Demonstrated clinical leadership skills and an ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary framework and independently.
