The Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC) provides expert clinical advice to patients, carers and other health care professionals within a defined specialty through the delivery of specialist consultant service which:   
  
 

  • Develops implements and evaluates care management plans for patients with complex health needs
  • Provides leadership in the ongoing development of clinical practice
  • Initiates and utilises findings of research in the provision of clinical services.
  • Contributes to the development and delivery of specialty related education programs
  • Participates in formal processes for the strategic and operational planning for the clinical service.

Ideal Candidate

 

  • Current nursing registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA) and 5 years full time equivalent post registration experience.
  • Holds approved postgraduate qualifications relevant to the specialty or such other qualifications or experience deemed appropriate
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
