What you'll be doing
This role enhances clinical outcomes for WSLHD patients with positive FOBT or high-risk rectal bleeding through expert nursing care and coordination. Your responsibilities will also include:

  • Providing specialised assessment, education, and early referrals.
  • Leading a nurse-led consultancy for high-risk bowel patients.
  • Facilitating rapid access to clinics and phone triage.
  • Supporting GPs with education on bowel cancer screening.
  • Contributing to research, service planning, and quality improvement.

Essential Criteria:

  • Registration: Current Registration as a Registered Nurse with Australian Health practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) 
  • Five (5) years full time equivalent post graduate experience. 
  • Post graduate qualification in the specialty field of Gastroenterology/Endoscopy or such other qualifications or experience deemed appropriate by WSLHD’

Selection Criteria:

  2. Demonstrated ability to organise and prioritise competing work requirements across a variety of settings.
  3. A proven ability to implement changes and develop direction in clinical practice by the utilisation of evidence based practice
  4. Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills and an ability to contribute positively as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
  5. Demonstrated ability to think critically and display leadership and teaching skills with experience in the development and delivery of health education resources.
  6. Demonstrated ability to work in an autonomous role or function well in a multi-disciplinary team across services/departments.
  7. Demonstrated understanding of the needs of consumers from a range of diverse cultural, linguistic, ethnic, and religious backgrounds and ability to engage with consumers
