About the Opportunity
Liverpool Hospital is calling on a visionary Clinical Nurse Consultant to lead our innovative Patient Blood Management (PBM) program.
In this senior role, you will oversee and transform transfusion practices across the hospital, working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate, manage and direct the safe, effective and patient-centred use of blood and blood products.
You will play a vital role in developing and evaluating systems that promote appropriate transfusion practices while reducing unnecessary use and associated costs.
As a clinical leader, you will provide high-level consultancy to patients, carers and health professionals, using research and evidence-based practice to drive continuous improvement in care.
This is a unique opportunity to shape transfusion care at one of Australia’s busiest tertiary hospitals.
You'll work closely with the SWSLHD Haemovigilance CNC to ensure compliance with National Standard 7: Blood and Blood Products, while taking the lead in implementing PBM strategies that truly make a difference.

What You'll be Doing
The Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC) is an expert practitioner who, through leadership facilitates evidence-based practice.
The CNC will promote a service which fosters clinical excellence, research and professional leadership.
The CNC contributes to quality health care by collaborating with the health care providers and consumer groups, developing clinical practice standards and evaluating their outcomes.
The CNC is responsible for providing services which facilitate effective management of the care in the given specialty.
Liverpool Hospital, founded in 1813, is the major health service for south-western Sydney, providing services to the local government area of Liverpool City Council as well as district services to residents and visitors in the area. It also provides a range of state-wide services in areas such as critical care and trauma, neonatal intensive care and brain injury rehabilitation.
The Hospital provides a health service of international standing, with 23 operating theatres, capacity for 877 beds, diagnostic and imaging services, emergency and trauma care, maternity, paediatric, cancer care, mental health, ambulatory care, allied health and medical and surgical services from birth to aged care.
Liverpool Hospital is currently undergoing a major redevelopment. The $790 million Liverpool Health and Academic Precinct (LHAP) project will provide enhanced facilities and an increased capacity to meet future significant population growth for South Western Sydney.
Liverpool Hospital is a principal referral and teaching Hospital of the UNSW Sydney and the Western Sydney University and also welcome students from over 20 universities and colleges.
Located in the heart of Liverpool City, the hospital is close to public transport, shopping centres and eateries.

- Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and 5 years full time equivalent post registration experience. Approved post graduate nursing qualifications in a field relevant to the specialty field or such other qualifications or experience deemed appropriate by the organisation.
