Clinical Nurse Consultant Child Youth & Family Quality & Data
The CNC CYFH Quality & Data is a highly experienced registered nurse who can provide leadership advice and recommendations in relation to clinical practice documentation and quality monitoring. The role will support best clinical practice documentation as we move into the NSW Health Single Digital Patient Record.

What you'll be doing
The CYF CNC is an expert nurse who provides leadership, advice and recommendations relating to all aspects of nursing service quality monitoring and improvement including clinical documentation. The position consults on matters relating to the safe and appropriate use of eMR in all aspects of nursing practices. The CNC will formulate and implement policy, guide practice development, and engage in education and research activities relevant to the scope of the role. The Child, Youth and Family (CYF) Health Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC) - Quality and Data works as part of the senior CYF Health Clinical leadership team.
The CNC takes a lead role:
- In supporting optimal function, and initiating innovative redesign of the CYF specific components of the electronic medical record (eMR) to ensure the system supports safe, person-centred and integrated multidisciplinary care, safe handover, and service evaluation.
- In clinical service evaluation and coordinating routine and tailored organisational reporting requirements by producing routine and tailored data reports.
- In planning and supporting District-wide CYF Nursing quality improvement projects across CYFHN teams.
- For all projects focused on improving clinical documentation and the eMR CHOC system functioning.
- In supporting services to meet and embed national quality and safety and professional standards into all aspects of practice.
- As the primary liaison point between CYF and the Local Health District (LHD) Information Communications and Technology (ICT) in relation to initiating, designing and implementing new eMR system changes.
- Providing education, training, and consultancy and mentoring for staff to optimise CYF clinical documentation and effective and safe use of eMR.
- In supporting CYF health literacy and service access strategies for families, by managing and overseeing updates to the NLSHD CYF website content and developing patient workflows.

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:
- Registered with Authority to Practice with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency. Minimum five years full time post graduate experience with 3 years full time equivalent in the specialty field. In addition the applicant must have an approved post graduate qualification (minimum Grad Diploma/Certificate level) or evidence of working towards Masters level qualification. Current NSW Driver’s licence.
- Demonstrated project leadership experience and ability to apply critical thinking, problem solving and improvement science to enhance clinical practice and implement change.
- Demonstrated high-level knowledge, skill and competence in using CHOC eMR and MS Office applications including Excel.
