About the role
We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Nurse Consultant to join our Acute and Continuing Care Team (ACCT). In this specialist role, you will provide expert clinical advice, assessment and intervention for consumers with complex mental health needs, including the management of forensic mental health services. Working collaboratively with consumers, carers and multidisciplinary health professionals, you will play a key role in supporting high-quality, evidence-based mental health care across community settings.
As a clinical expert and leader, you will drive excellence in practice through education, research, quality improvement and professional mentorship. You will contribute to the development of innovative service delivery models, support clinical governance activities and promote best-practice approaches to mental health care. The successful applicant will demonstrate a strong commitment to recovery-oriented care and embody the organisation’s CORE values of Collaboration, Openness, Respect and Empowerment in all aspects of their work.
ACCT provides acute care, forensic mental health and suicide prevention outreach services to people experiencing mental illness and psychological distress within the community. The team also supports individuals requiring ongoing treatment and recovery-focused care and includes a dedicated peer workforce that brings valuable lived-experience perspectives to service delivery.
This role will also provide specialist outreach support to the Lachlan Community Mental Health Team, enhancing access to expert mental health services across the region and strengthening clinical collaboration between services.
