The Nepean Mental Health Centre provides inpatient care for people experiencing acute mental health issues through the short-stay Psychiatric Emergency Care Centre (PECC), the Acute Mental Health Unit, Mental Health High Dependency Unit, and Older Persons Mental Health Unit. We support our Patients by linking them to case managers for ongoing treatment and support within an environment appropriate to the person's needs.
Join the Pathways to Community Living Initiative (PCLI) as a Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC2) and lead transformative care for older adults with complex, enduring mental health needs. This specialist role delivers expert nursing across assessment, treatment, and transition support for consumers in Residential Aged Care Facilities, Mental Health Aged Care Partnership programs, and those moving from long-term inpatient care to community living. As a clinical leader, you’ll mentor and educate staff across Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District, shaping safe, person-centered care through collaboration, policy development, and evidence-based practice.

What you will bring to the role:
- Current registration with AHPRA - Division 1 Registered Nurse.
- Minimum five years full time equivalent post qualification experience, with at least three years full time equivalent experience in mental health nursing and post graduate qualifications in mental health or equivalent experience deemed appropriate by the Health Service.
- Demonstrated effective communication and inter-personal skills across a variety of mediums and an understanding of the practice development framework.
- Proven ability to implement changes and develop direction in clinical practice by the utilisation of evidence-based research.
- Demonstrated skills in strategic and clinical service planning including an understanding of organisational behavior, change management and cultural change processes.
- Demonstrated skills in clinical teaching, competency in the use of contemporary information systems and experience in the development of specialty education programs.
- Understanding of the recovery philosophy and trauma informed care in Mental Health with the ability to implement these in clinical practice.
- A current NSW drivers’ license, including P1 or above, and willingness to use same as required for the position.
